Saved by the bell...

This has been a resolution a long time coming. When the kids are out and about, it is hard to find them sometimes. I don't like to yell at the top of my lungs each time I need the children. We tried using walkie talkies, but they don't work properly out here, too hit or miss. Then I bought this cutey dinner bell to go out on the back porch. Savannah was the one that suggested I ring the bell when I needed them to come home. I didn't think the sound of the bell would carry very far, but I tried it... Success! Hopefully the sound of this bell is less obtrusive than my only other choice, grin. Although, the cats are terrified of it.

What a great idea! Be careful of what might come in the front door after you ring this bell..the donkeys and goats may want supper too! I can just see the kids taking off running toward the house after they hear the bell and the animals following behind them in hot pursuit!

ps-I need to send you pix of Savannah from girls' camp!

Your last post made me laugh so much. The bell is beautiful! I am really wanting to come for a visit. It sounds like so much fun out there.

This is how my mother called all of us kids (there were 8 of us)home for dinner...it brings back so many memories...you always knew when the Brimhalls (my maiden name)were having dinner! You will have to ask Alisha if she remembers this?
