before & after

Before... lovely daughter got driver's permit,
After... precious, lovely, & overzealous daughter got driver's permit.
Ummmmmm, me thinks that daughter needs some more practice.
And along with that practice, me thinks daughter needs to work off a $310 repair bill.
I don't know who has been consoling who more... Savannah and I keep telling each other that in the future... the far, far, away future... we will laugh about this.
And YES, I have Savannah's OK  to blog about this.
But it took a full 48 hours for her to wipe tears and lick her wounds before said permission was given, snicker.

Tell her not to feel too bad! I backed into my parents new garage door last month!! Charles has since gotten me a car with a backup alarm. ha ha

NOOOOOOO! I hate learning lessons the hard way. So sorry to hear about this. There is a garage door down the street that had a similar thing happen. Only it looks like they were inside the garage and the garage door was shut when they tried to back up!

I'm not sure which one of you to feel worse for!

Tell her to hang in there... it will get easier. At least that is what I keep telling my oldest daughter!

How was the car? Did it survive? Oh the lessons we have to learn. I have so many I could share. But alas I'll keep them to myself.

We are still a few years out from all of this, but I am sure that we will be getting pay backs from when Tyson ran into his parent's garage and a parked car.

And yes, you and Savannah will look back and laugh because we all laugh at the stories about Tyson's mishaps. ;)

Some day you WILL look back and laugh at this! There is a tree in our neighborhood that I am sure cringes every time K rounds that corner (she went over the curb and hit the tree - no damage to the tree - minimal car damage). Good luch Savannah! It does get easier with time!

I ran THROUGH our garage wall about a year ago. No reason. Just kept driving instead of braking.

Please tell your child not to feel bad any longer. What's done is done!

Or at least that's what I keep telling Steve...

Oh gosh, this brings back memories of my earlier days in driving... I took out our mailbox while backing out. I never thought to make sure my front end was OK while backing out - my eyes were glued to everything BEHIND me. Funny times. Now. Not then. :)

Aw, bless her heart. We've all had our share of accidents even when driving for years!!

Awww, that stinks! At least she has a very real idea now of the power of a car. That's a good thing to learn early. I'm sure she will be extra careful from now on.

My most embarrassing car mistake was accidentally backing my husband's car into my MIL's van!

When I was younger, I was backing out of a friend's driveway, was looking behind me to the right, but didn't notice that I was too far to the left and hit my rearview mirror on their mailbox and knocked the mirror off. I also backed into a huge pole in a parking garage- even though I DID look behind me and didn't see anything.. haha So, no big accidents but I had my fair share of small mishaps!
